About Roleyome

What this site is

Roleyome is an independent guide to buying watches in Japan, written for visitors. It is run by a couple in Tokyo, known on this site as Roleo and Yomecchi, who visit authorized Rolex boutiques in person and track prices. We publish guides based on our own visits and on official sources, together with price data: the list prices published by Rolex Japan, and the asking prices of a Tokyo pre-owned dealer.

Who runs it

Roleyome is run by two individuals, not by a company. To protect our privacy we do not publish our real names or our address on this site. You can reach us through the contact page. Where the law requires it, we will disclose the operator's name and address to anyone who asks us through that page.

Where our information comes from

• Store and tax-free information is taken from official sources (the brands' own websites and Japanese government pages) and from our own visits. We date what we saw, because store policies change.
• List prices are Rolex Japan's tax-included prices, checked against rolex.com.
• Pre-owned prices are the asking prices listed by GINZA RASIN, a Tokyo pre-owned dealer, which we record every day. They are asking prices, not sale prices or appraisals.
• The difficulty ranking is our own 1 to 5 star score for how hard it is to buy a current model at an authorized dealer in Japan. It is not an official rating.
• Currency conversions use daily exchange rates from Exchange Rate API and are estimates. Your card issuer sets the final rate.

How the site is funded

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy or book through them, we may earn a commission. It does not change the price you pay. Links of this kind are labeled, and the site footer carries the same notice. The site may also show advertising.

Independence

Roleyome is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Rolex, any other watch brand, or any store mentioned here. Brand names and product images belong to their owners. We do not buy, sell or appraise watches.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, such as an out-of-date store policy, please tell us through the contact page. We will check it against the official source and fix it.
