Lange Boutique Ginza: A. Lange & Söhne in Japan

Planning a visit to an A. Lange & Söhne boutique in Japan? This guide lists every Lange boutique in Japan shown on the brand's official website: two in central Tokyo department stores, a street boutique in Ginza, one in Osaka and one in Nagoya. For each one, you get the address, opening hours, phone number and email, plus what Lange says makes it different.

If you only remember one thing: the Lange boutique Ginza is the brand's first directly managed boutique in Japan, and it's open every day from 11:00 to 19:00.

I dream in many languages. Some of them have very thin cases.

A quick note before we start. Roleyome is an independent media site. We don't sell, buy or appraise watches, and we have no connection with A. Lange & Söhne or any store listed here. We have not visited these boutiques ourselves. Everything below comes from A. Lange & Söhne's official website (alange-soehne.com, Japan edition in English), checked on October 17, 2026.

Where are the A. Lange & Söhne boutiques in Japan?

Lange's page "Boutiques and official retailers in Japan" lists five boutiques. All five show the same hours for every day of the week, Monday through Sunday.

Three of the five are inside department stores (Mitsukoshi, Isetan and Matsuzakaya), which keep their own calendars. Lange's pages don't list holiday exceptions. If your visit falls on a public holiday or during the New Year period, check first.

A. Lange & Söhne Boutique Ginza

The Ginza page also shows a set of watches labeled "Flagship Exclusive." On the day we checked, these included versions of the LANGE 1, LANGE 1 MOON PHASE, GRAND LANGE 1 MOON PHASE and RICHARD LANGE in 750 yellow gold or 950 platinum. All of them were marked "Price upon request."

Ginza is also home to many other watch boutiques. If you're planning a full watch day there, our guide to the Rolex boutiques in Ginza and how to visit them covers the Rolex side.

Lange boutiques in Tokyo department stores: Nihombashi and Shinjuku

Tokyo has two more Lange boutiques, both inside well-known department stores.

According to Lange, the Nihombashi boutique grew out of the brand's long presence in the store's watch gallery. Lange notes that the department store itself has a history of nearly 350 years.

The Isetan Shinjuku boutique sits on the remodeled fifth floor of the main building. Lange's page says you can see its collections there, along with unique pieces and boutique-limited models.

If you're staying in Shinjuku, Isetan has the longest hours of any Lange boutique in Japan. It stays open until 20:00, which makes it the easiest one to fit in after a day of sightseeing.

Lange boutiques in Osaka and Nagoya

Outside Tokyo, Lange lists two boutiques.

The Osaka Shinsaibashi boutique opened in 2021 as Lange's fifth boutique in Japan. It's on the first floor of the W Osaka hotel on the busy Midosuji Boulevard. Lange says that, besides the current collection, it can show boutique and special models.

The Nagoya boutique is inside the Matsuzakaya department store, on the fifth floor of the North Building, in an area called GENTA the Watch. Lange's page uses the same wording about boutique and special models.

Do you need an appointment at a Lange boutique?

Every Lange boutique page we checked has a "Book an appointment" link, a phone number and an email address. None of the pages says that an appointment is required. None says walk-ins are refused, either.

So here's our practical advice. If you just want to look around, the hours above are your guide. If you want to see a specific reference, especially a boutique edition or a "Flagship Exclusive," book an appointment or email first. A boutique can't promise that a particular watch will be in stock on the day you visit.

Lange's pages also don't say which languages the staff speak, or whether the boutiques offer tax-free sales. We didn't find that information, so we won't guess. Ask when you book. One email can cover all three questions: the model, the language and tax-free sales.

Lange prices in Japan: what the official site shows

Lange's Japan site shows yen prices for some models. For many others, especially limited editions and precious-metal pieces, it shows "Price upon request." Some models are also marked "Online Boutique."

On the product pages we checked, the site didn't say whether the yen prices include Japan's consumption tax. Because of that, we don't list any Lange prices here. If price matters for your decision, open the model on Lange's Japan site and ask the boutique to confirm the price, including tax, before you travel.

This is a different world from buying a Rolex in Japan, where demand often outruns supply at the stores. If you're hunting for both on the same trip, see our guide to buying a Rolex in Japan, from walk-ins to reservations.

How to plan a Lange boutique visit as a traveler

  1. Pick your boutique by area. Ginza is the easiest for a first visit. Shinjuku works best in the evening. Nihombashi pairs well with a Ginza day, since both are in Chuo-ku.
  2. Book or email ahead. Include your travel dates, the reference number you're interested in (for example, 191.021 for a LANGE 1 in yellow gold) and your preferred language.
  3. Ask about tax-free sales. Lange's pages don't cover it, so ask the boutique directly.
  4. Bring your passport. You'll need it for tax-free shopping.
  5. Check the hours again. Hours above are as of October 17, 2026.

Tax-free shopping changes on November 1, 2026

From purchases made on November 1, 2026, Japan switches to a refund method for tax-free shopping. According to the Japan Tourism Agency:

  • You pay the tax-inclusive price at the shop.
  • When you leave Japan, you present your passport at a customs terminal at the airport or port, and customs confirms the goods.
  • After that, the consumption tax is refunded by the shop or a designated refund operator.
  • The minimum is 5,000 yen or more (before tax) at the same store on the same day.
  • Customs confirmation must happen within 90 days of the purchase date.
  • You must carry the goods with you at customs, so don't pack them in checked baggage before the check.

Refund methods and fees vary by store, so ask before you pay. For the full picture, read our guide to Japan's 2026 tax-free refund rules.

Quick checklist

  • Japan has five Lange boutiques: Ginza, Nihombashi Mitsukoshi and Isetan Shinjuku in Tokyo, plus Osaka Shinsaibashi and Matsuzakaya Nagoya.
  • Ginza: 6-7-15 Ginza, open 11:00 to 19:00 every day.
  • Isetan Shinjuku has the longest hours (10:00 to 20:00).
  • Every boutique page has a "Book an appointment" link and an email address.
  • Lange doesn't list staff languages or tax-free sales. Ask when you book.
  • Bring your passport, and remember the tax-free refund method from November 1, 2026.

Next step: email the boutique you plan to visit with your dates and the reference number you have in mind.
