Rolex Stores in Japan: Reservation or Walk-In?

Contents
Looking for Rolex stores in Japan that you can actually get into? The hard part is not finding a store. It's knowing whether you can walk in or need to book weeks ahead. Each authorized dealer sets its own rules, and they change.
This page lists the Rolex boutiques whose entry rules we could confirm on an official page, as of October 17, 2026. For each store, you get the city, the address, the hours, and the official page we checked. We left out stores where the official sites don't say how visitors are admitted. We would rather show a short list you can trust than a long one full of guesses.
A quick note: Roleyome is an independent media site. We don't sell, buy or appraise watches, and we are not connected to Rolex or to any store on this page.
How do Rolex stores in Japan let visitors in?
New Rolex watches are sold only by Official Rolex Jewelers, often called authorized dealers or ADs. Rolex lists them on its store locator for Japan. Many are counters inside department stores. Others are standalone boutiques.
In Japan, each store chooses how customers get in. Here are the two systems we found on official pages:
| Entry system | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Reservation request | Apply online for a visit date. It is not first come, first served, and you may not get a slot. |
| Same-day, in order of arrival | Go on the day and wait your turn. Expect a wait when it's busy. |
Japanese fans call touring store after store in search of stock the "Rolex marathon." If you are new to it, read our guide on how to buy a Rolex at an authorized dealer in Japan first. It covers what happens at the counter.
Which Rolex stores in Japan need a reservation?
These stores take visits through a reservation request system, according to their official notices. Lexia is a store group that runs several Rolex boutiques.
| Store | City | Address (official site) | Hours (official site) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rolex Boutique Lexia Ginza Namikidori | Tokyo (Ginza) | 6-6-7 Ginza, Chuo-ku | 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, closed one day a week |
| Rolex Boutique Lexia Shinjuku | Tokyo (Shinjuku) | 3-30-11 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku | 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, closed one day a week |
| Rolex Boutique Lexia Nagoya Sakae | Nagoya | 3-24-17 Nishiki, Naka-ku | 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, closed one day a week |
| Rolex Boutique Hilton Plaza Osaka | Osaka (Umeda) | Hilton Plaza West, 1st and 2nd floors | 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, closed on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays |
What the official notices say:
- Lexia Ginza Namikidori started its reservation service on August 24, 2026. Requests are taken for visits in the week after next. Lexia emails the result after 4:00 pm on Mondays.
- Lexia Shinjuku and Lexia Nagoya Sakae are listed in the same Lexia notice, with links to their own reservation request pages.
- Hilton Plaza Osaka says visits are handled through its visit reservation service. The building's shop page also says entry is by reservation.
The Lexia store pages show a weekly closing day for each store but not the weekday in text, so check the store page before you pick a date. Our separate guide to visiting the Rolex boutiques in Ginza covers the two Ginza stores in more detail.
What about Lexia Ginza, the main store?
Lexia's notice says the Ginza main store stopped taking reservation requests after visits on August 23, 2026. It does not say how visitors are admitted now. So we have not put it in either table. Contact the store before you go.
Which Rolex stores in Japan see you on the day?
These stores say on an official page that you can come on the day, without a reservation.
| Store | City | Address (official site) | Hours (official site) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rolex Boutique Daimaru Umeda | Osaka (Umeda) | 3-1-1 Umeda, Kita-ku, 1st floor East | 10:00 am - 8:00 pm |
| Rolex Boutique Hankyu Umeda Main Store | Osaka (Umeda) | 8-7 Kakuda-cho, Kita-ku, 6th floor (HANKYU LUXURY Watch Gallery) | 10:00 am - 8:00 pm |
| Rolex Boutique Matsuzakaya Nagoya | Nagoya (Sakae) | 3-16-1 Sakae, Naka-ku, North Building 5th floor | 10:00 am - 7:00 pm |
| Rolex Boutique Anshindo Matsuzakaya Shizuoka | Shizuoka | 10-2 Gofukucho, Aoi-ku, North Building 1st floor | 10:00 am - 7:00 pm |
What the official pages say:
- Daimaru Umeda serves customers in the order they arrive on the day. You may have to wait when it is busy. The store may not be able to take you close to closing time.
- Hankyu Umeda says no reservation is needed for visits from April 1, 2026. That notice was posted on February 26, 2026, after the store's renovation.
- Matsuzakaya Nagoya ended advance reservations with visits on November 16, 2023. Since then, it serves customers in order of arrival. Waits are possible when it's busy.
- Anshindo Matsuzakaya Shizuoka says it does not take visit reservations and asks you to come to the store directly.
Same-day does not mean no wait. And it never means the watch you want is in stock.
Is any store changing its rules soon?
Yes. Rolex Boutique Mitsukoshi Nihombashi in Tokyo is moving. Its official notice gives these dates:
| What | Date (2026) |
|---|---|
| Last day at the current location (main building, 6th floor) | October 31 |
| Closed | November 1 to 3 |
| Reopens on the 1st floor | November 4 |
| Reservation requests for visits on November 4 to 8 | October 19 (10:00 am) to October 25 (11:59 pm) |
| Results sent | After 4:00 pm on October 28 |
The notice covers only November 4 to 8. It doesn't say how visits work after that, so check again before you go. The current address is 1-4-1 Nihonbashi Muromachi, Chuo-ku.
This pattern is common. Hankyu Umeda also used reservations for a short time after its renovation in March 2026, then dropped them. If a store says "renewal" or "reopening," expect a short reservation period.
How should you plan visits on a short trip?
Use the tables to split your days:
- Pick your city first. Osaka (Umeda) has two same-day stores and one reservation store close together. Nagoya has one of each in Sakae.
- Request reservations early. If a reservation store matters to you, apply about two weeks before the date. Write down when results arrive.
- Fill the rest of the day with same-day stores. Start at a store that opens at 10:00 am. Leave stores that close at 7:00 pm for midday, not the evening.
- Allow time for waits. On our own visits in Tokyo in September 2026, a same-day store took about 1.5 to 2 hours before we were seen. Two or three stores in a day is realistic.
- Check the official page the week you travel. Every notice we read says the rules may change.
Not sure what each model costs before you go? Our page on Rolex list prices in Japan shows the official yen prices.
What should you bring?
- Your passport. Tax-free stores ask for it at the time of purchase.
- Your reservation email, if you booked. Keep it easy to find on your phone.
- A clear idea of the model you want, and why. Staff respond better to a specific, honest request.
From November 1, 2026, Japan's tax-free system changes. You pay the tax-inclusive price in the store and get the tax back after customs confirms the goods when you leave. Our guide to Japan tax-free shopping under the new refund rules explains each step. We have not confirmed which of the stores above are tax-free shops, so ask before you pay.
Quick checklist
- Choose stores from the two tables, and note each store's hours and closing day.
- For reservation stores, send your request about two weeks ahead.
- For same-day stores, arrive early and plan for a wait.
- If you're in Tokyo in early November, note the Mitsukoshi Nihombashi reopening dates.
- Bring your passport and check each store's official page before you go.
Next step: open the official pages in Sources below, and confirm the rules for the exact dates of your trip.
